Answer by  sourgirl472 (19)

People are naturally drawn to tragedies because they involve a high level of emotion. Many people are drawn because reading about or knowing about other tragedies can often make a person feel much better and thankful for the things in his or her life. People learn to appreciate what they have by seeing the losses of others.

We are drawn to tragedies because our mortality hits home when a tragic event happens. When it happens to a public figure, say a celebrity, we realize that, they too, are human and are not immune to tragedy.
