Why are my television speakers making a humming sound?

It's white noise. This happens on any kind of speakers when the volume is high, but there is no sound being sent to it. Try changing the speaker mix in your tv or cable box settings, so you do not need to raise the volume more to hear clearly.

That could either be the result of it being cheap and creating loud white noise, or, you have damaged your speakers.

I think you speakers may have a lose wire. I would see if you can take them in anywhere to be checked. I hope this is not too expensive for you.
