The Hardy Boys mysteries have all been ghost written. Authors who have written for the series signed agreements that prevented them from recieving royalties from the books. Leslie McFarlane wrote some of the earlier books as Franklin Dixon. The old tv show was written for Hollywood by screenwriters.
