An MRI will be first interpreted by the radiologist who will have the clinical details and the pictures. He will draw a preliminary report. If needed he will discuss this with the doctor who asked for the MRI and then a final report will be drawn. The doctor who asked for the MRI will then plan the treatment.

Typically a radiologist will read your MRI then sends the results to your primary care doctor. Your PCP doctor will usually be the one to call you with those results.
