Each team in the National Football league has a staff personel that is in charge of keeping records and statistics for each home game. The statistics and records that the personell record are later checked by NFL officials and recordkeepers for validity.

The NFL has a committee of many people taking stats at every game for every team. They also review the film afterward to catch any mistakes.
