This company, named ironically after Queen Victoria, was founded in 1977 by Roy Raymond who graduated from The Stanford Graduate School of Business. He opened his first store in the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California.

Roy Raymond established Victoria's Secret in San Francisco in 1977 and sold it five yeears later to The Limited for $4 million dollars. In 1993, when he was 47, Raymond committed suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge.

Roy Raymond founded Victoria's secret. He did a great deal of volume in the early years and later sold the business to a corporation. One can only assume that he's living high on the hog now.

Roy Raymond, a Stanford graduate, started the stores in 1977 because He was embarrassed when purchasing lingerie for his wife and wanted a comfortable place for men to shop. He sold it to the Limited in 1982. He committed suicide in 1993 jumping over the Golden Gate bridge.
