All hair clippers are about the same. The length of the remaining hair is determined by the depth of the guard attached to the blades. The guard also helps prevent nicks and cuts. You can use the clippers carefully without a guard, or use a safety razor.

Wahl electric clippers are excellent clippers to use to get a close to the scalp cut. They come in several sizes, and each set comes with a clipper guard that will determine the length of the fade of your hair. If you would like a very close cut, you can remove the clipper guard.

Some people will say Wahl clippers are the best for getting a close cut, while others will say Remmington. Try clippers made for beards for the closest cut.
