Catch the borers early! Look for furrows, entry and exit points, and funnel like depression which are seen when the anobium borer lays eggs. once these hatch... you can say bye bye to your baltic pine floor!

You can also say bye bye to a lot of money - treating the pine and setting up a floor again will cost a bomb!  add a comment

Lyctus borers a. k. a the Powder Post Beetle messes up the sap potion of the hardwood baltic pine. However these pests don't cause much structural damage, unlike the anobium borer.

Anobium borers like softwood timbers like baltic pine. This borer is commonly known as the "furniture beetle". The Anobium borer can not only hurt furniture but can do tremendous damage to Baltic pine flooring.

I believe the insects you speak of are called pine caterpillars. They usually feed on all sorts of pine and can prevent the pine from revealing its true beauty. Use a horticultural spray for prevention.

It is the Anobium borer, or furniture beetle. They will damage Baltic pine floors especially in old homes where the sub-flooring is not ventilated properly and causes dampness.

Anobium borers are so dangerous. They eventually lead to total collapse of the flooring and you'll be forced to change the whole baltic pine flooring which is very expensive. And then they can attack your new floor again! Prevention is better than replacement!  add a comment

Anobium borers. They are identfied by the tiny holes they make in wood, and the dust that comes out of them. They are particularly attracted to damp flooring found in older houses due to poor ventilation of the flooring. Insecticide will usually get rid of these pests, but in severe cases you'll need to completely replace the wood.

Anobium borers attack and eat baltic pine. These borers are sometimes referred to as furniture beetles. They can cause massive damage especially to baltic flooring. If flooring is damp or there is a poor ventilation problem, this will cause anobium boreres to strike. They will also eat thru baltic type furniture.
