The lincoln 1955 double di or double hit is a good one. The 1943 copper penny is rare because the government went to steel pennies after a few thousand (80) were minted. They needed the copper for the war. Your best bet is to get the blue collecting books and soon enough you will find out!

Penny's from the following years may fall into the category of valuable: 1943, 1955, 1936, 1924, 1909, 1877, 1856, 1844, 1793, 1792. There are further requirements to it being rare but I would keep any you find from those years. Value ranges from $6 - $40k

For the most part, pennies are worth one cent. However, there are coin collectors and antique shops that value some coins at more than one dollar. Your best chance of identifying a valuable penny is if it reads "one cent" on the back.
