Where should you stay in Guatemala City when arriving at the airport?

The best choice is Dai Nonni Hotel. Reviewers who stayed there raved about service and cleanliness. It is located in the airport area but taxis are plentiful to the Zona Viva. Dai Nonni was converted to a hotel from an old house, so it feels more like a Bed and Breakfast. And you won't believe the low price!

For budget accommodation: Hostel Los Volcanes, walking distance from the airport. For medium-range: Dos Lunas Airport Hotel, with free airport shuttle. If you want to indulge: the Westin Camino Real.

You will want to go to one of the hotels that cater to western tourists. The cost is more than you might find but it will be safer and cleaner. The best hotels are on the waterfront, spring for the air conditioned rooms and you will be fine. The mosquitos are bad there.

This is quite a difficult question, buy I would like to advise to give Radisson Hotel a chance if it's convenient for you. there are of course plenty of other place where you can find rest there.

Guatemala city may not be entirely safe, so book ahead for your first night, especially if you land late in the day. Look for chain hotels around the airport.

Soon as you arrive at the airport, pick a taxi and go to the nearest guesthouse. There are many such places close by. The manager at the guesthouse will not only allot you a cheap room with attached facilities and maybe offer food in the restaurant inside the guesthouse; he will also provide transport to go around.
