I definately would recommend to talk a walking tour to explore a part of Chicago's beautiful architecture. What you shouldn't miss is some of the highest buildings, the skyscrapers, which been architected by famous architects like Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Jaume Plensa, Sir Anthony Caro and others.

Just sign up for a tour and they will take care of that. The tours you pay for really are worth it because they take you to all the historical sites. Look into the "Chicago Architectural Boat tour" it is really worth it and a great time.

They offer a really great boat tour that goes down the river and shows you many of the important buildings. Obviously the most famous is the Sears Tower. Go to the top of it and they have small glass protursions where you can walk out over the edge.
