The River Tees runs from Cross Fell in the Pennines, the hills which divide Yorkshire from Lancashire, through the Tees Valley to the North Sea between Redcar and Hartlepool on England's north east coast. Most of it lies in Durham and it forms a traditional boundary between Yorkshire and Durham.

River Tees originates as a small stream from the eastern slope of Cross Fell in the Pennines. This mountain ranch is located in the central of the British Island. Then the river flows eastwards for the duration of 85 miles before reaching the North Sea between Hartlepool and Redcar in Durham County

This river was once the border between Durham and Yorkshire Counties. It flows from the central spine of England, the Pennines, and reaches the North Sea between Redcar and Hartlepool.
