Depending on year of Nissan Maxima. It could have more than one oxygen sensor. It could be located in a couple differnt places, such as exhaust manifold or on the exhaust pipe itself located after the exhaust manifold. There are test you can do on your Nissan, to locate which oxygen sensor is causing the problem

It will be located in the exhaust system located in front of the catalytic converter more than likely. I can't be more specific without knowing more information about the car.
