Birds are equipped with rain-shedding feathers if no shelter is available. Some birds enjoy sitting in the rain. Others will find shelter in trees, leaves, eaves of buildings and buildings in general, shrubs, bushes, etc. Birds have "built-in" radars and know when a storm is approaching and to find shelter.

Much like us, birds will try to find any suitable shelter when it's raining. This can be under porch awnings, in park and garden trees and shrubs, abandoned buildings etc. Sometimes though, for example if it's if it's been very dry for a long time, they'll just sit right out in the rain and get wet!
