Normally they'll hide under trees and things that will shield them from the rain. Sometimes they'll go hide underneath things like letter signs where its warm and dry, which is why a lot of them build nests in those as well.

Birds have a variety of places to go when it rains. Most birds perch in trees and shrubs and are often seen preening while it rains.
