Laws about keeping primates as pets vary by state. However, an orangutan has the strength of 10 men, wants to establish domination, and canNOT be domesticated. Not a good pet.

Orangutains are an endangered specie so the y are protect in zoos or in their natural habitat. If you could buy one, they most definately would not make a good pet. Remember they are a wild animal and an orangutain is very strong and can turn on you at any time.
