Some jurisdictions have a "hazardous household materials" disposal site at their municipal waste site or municipal buildings. Also, some auto repair shops will accept gas and oil products for disposal (most notably those which do oil changes).

If you are in an area where you can burn, use it to start a brush fire. If not, take it to your city or county recycling center.

Check your local city/township's waste management unit for the local ordinances, they may have a disposal service. If they do not, you can always mix it with fresh gas a little at a time until you've used it all.

The best place to learn where to dispose of old gas is to call you city or local waste management department. They should be able to tell you where to take it, some cities even pick it up themselves. There may be a small charge depending on where you live.
