Common household rats can live just about anywhere. They are common in urban, agricultural, and suburban settings. They can live in human buildings, basements, attics, sewers, silos, backyards, and forests. The thrive from the easy food sources that humans provide for them.

A wild rat can live just about anywhere they can get food. They will live in abandoned houses or in weeds. Some big rats even live in the sewers. They love to live close to humans because experience teaches them that humans equal food. A rat can chew it's way into a house or anywhere it wants.
