The capuchin monkey is found in the forests of Southern Central America. They eat small bugs, fruit, small birds, and small mammals. They require special diets, a large enclosure, and 24 hour attention. They are very hard to take care of. Vet and food bills are also very expensive. A happy monkey makes a safe monkey.

Capuchin monkeys are from Central America and South America. These monkeys are sometimes kept as exotic pets. They are also used as service animals by some organizations.

Capuchin monkeys are from Central America and South America as far south as northern Argentina. If you can provide a monkey with 24/7 companionship, enrichment, large enclosures, and specialized dietary needs, then yes they can be great pets. They are so quick to get into things and sometimes require a lot more work than a child!
