You may see behavioral changes at any point, but you can have a blood test or ultrasound done at approximately 30 days to confirm a pregnancy. Closer to 45 days she may start showing mammary development. At 55 days you can have xrays done to count puppies. Starting a couple days before labor she will start to show nesting behaviors.

The gestational period of dogs is about two to three months. Usually during the latter half of the pregnancy, your retriever will begin showing signs.

Not medical Advice: Different breeds carry their young during pregnancy. Usually with the larger breeds it takes alittle bit longer. Your lab will start showing around the 5-6 week.
