The prohibition era was a period from 1920-1933 and was also known as The Noble Experiment. This was a nation wide ban from the Eighteenth Amendment.

The Prohibition Era began in 1920, when the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, prohibiting the manufacture and consumption of alcohol. It ended in 1933, then the Twenty-first Amendment, repealing the Eighteenth, was ratified. Other countries, including Saudi Arabia, ban alcohol, but their rules are independent of US Prohibition.
