It was established in 1960 as Lagos Stock Exchanged which became Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1977 and established branches in the nation's leading commercial cities.

The Lagos Stock Exhange was established in 1960, and in 1977 it changd it's name to The Nigeria Stock Exchange.

The Nigerian Stock exchange was originally called the Lagos Stock Exchange and was established in 1960. In 1977 its name was changed to the Nigerian Stock Exchange to reflect the fact that it had branches in other cities in Nigeria besides Lagos.
