When someone is repairing your suspension, is it possible that they set your airbags off?

unless they droped your car off the lift probably not. if that happened you see alot of damage ,other then that they have to hit a sensor pretty hard.

Unlikely. On most cars deployment is done with sensors in impact areas for the vehicle bumpers and doors. I would look for visual damage to the vehicle. There have been some reports of improper air bag deployment. Look for possible recalls on your vehicle.

If it is a professional shop, they should know the process for airbag deactivation. It is not likely that an "accidental" short or impact would cause them to deploy.
