When should I make a follow up phone call after an interview?

I want to seem interested without sounding pushy.

Yes, a follow up call or email is appropriate, especially if you are still interested in the position after applying. Letting the interviewer know that you are interested and thanking for their time is important.

Many times, an employer will tell you when they will call you. If they do not get back to you within 3 days, call them back.

First I would send them a Thank You note for the interview. Wait a week and call and get the status of the job.

I would follow up between 24 to 48 hours of the interview. I would say something along the lines of "I appreciate your time and just wanted to see if you had an additional questions" or "I am not going to be available at the number that I gave you, let me give you a different one. "

In my opinion, I think that you should make a follow call approximately one week after your initial interview was held.
