When is it too late to report molestation?

I am finally willing to talk about it.

Criminal statutes of limitations vary from state to state, so it's impossible to tell whether the molester will be charged (much less convicted). Even if it proves to be too late, reporting the crime is important to authorities who keep track of statistics, and it might benefit your mental state.

The statute of limitations varies depending on the location the crime occurred. It might be to the point where the person who did this can no longer be prosecuted. If a significant amount of time has passed, collecting evidence to try the accused in a court of law gets harder as time goes on. I'm sorry this happened to you.

It is never too late. Even if you can't get justice in your case by speaking out you may prevent others from being abuses, especially children. Make the call.

Many states have statutes where a rape or a crime can run out. I would talk to the authorities in your area and find out the details. Often times loopholes in the law can make a molestation charge be relevent no matter when it was committed.
