When is hurricane season in the Dominican Republic?

I am planning a trip but don't want to go during hurricane season.

Hurricane season in the Caribbean Islands runs from June 1 to November 30. Hurricanes are statistically more probable to occur in August and September. You can sometimes get discounts if you are traveling at the very beginning or very end of hurricane season.

Hurricane season lasts from late June until the middle of November. This when the water in the Atlantic Ocean is generally warm enough to spawn hurricanes. The most active part of the hurricane season is during August and September.

Rain and storms can occur through out the entire year in the Dominican Republic. It is warm year round.
