Deworming medicine causes worms/intestinal parasites to die. They are then shed from the body though the digestive system and deposited in the feces.

Depending on the type of worms you may see them in the poop after treatment. In most cases the worms are broken down and reabsorbed.

Yes, the puppy should poop the worms out. confine the puppy on papers or a disposable tarp until that happens to control the subsequent mess and prevent contamination.

Yes, for the most part, when puppies are given a de-wormer, the medicine kills some of the worms and flushes the rest from the system. May cause diarrhea.
