Seersucker is a warm weather fabric. It is usually a lightweight cotton, characterized by puckers woven into the fabric. The puckers cause the fabric to have less surface contact with the skin compared to a fabric with a flat weave. This puckering allows for more air flow over the skin

Seersucker material is light weight and is good for hot weather. Attire made out of this material would be appropriate for a casual setting or even for a beach wedding that request causal dress.

Seersucker tends to traditionally be a southern, preppy pattern on clothing. Guys will wear seersucker pants or shorts, and girls may wear it in skirt format. A great place to wear seersucker is during the spring or summer to a horse race.
