What's the best way and time of year to replant a 15-year old barrel cactus?

I don't want to do anything to harm it.

Well I don't think re planting it would be a good idea. It could really disrupt the plant if you know what I mean.

The barrel cactus is a very hardy and super tolerant plant. As long as the roots are not snapped and you dont gouge the upper areas too much it can be planted any time of the year

Replanting a barrel cactus can be done in spring or fall but the most essential thing to remember is do not get the roots wet. After taking the cactus out of the soil, allow the roots to dry for a week or two before replanting, then do not water after.
