Numerous things can cause pain in the uterus. It can be caused from normal menstrual cycle cramping, adhesions from previous surgery or diseases such as endometriosis, STDs, PID, cancer or from a tilted uterus.

Severe pain in the uterian area could be caused by endometrocis, an indication that you will soon be getting your period or a burst cyst. In addition it could be referared pain and not be coming from your uterus at all. It could be your colon, stomach or kidneys that is causing the pain.
