The Roman Army was headed by the King. Below the King were several ranks and divisions. The Eequites made up the cavalry, while the light cavalry was composed of the Velites. The Heavy Infantry was the primary unit in the kingdom. Leaders included the Legatus legionis, who was the overall leader, down to Tribuni angusticlavii, who commanded local tribes.
