What were the radio stations of the 80's playing?

Answer by  Blip (313)

Radio airwaves of the 80's played the highest charting songs at the moment, much like modern radio. Popular acts from the 80's included Madonna, Prince, and Michael Jackson.

In the 80's I was a teenager in Europe. I couldn't stop listening to songs from Depeche Mode. Who can't remember "People are people", and many others. I also liked Sandra, Chris De Burgh (Lady in red), Michael Jackson, Jennifer Rush, Nena (99 red balloons, the German version). The radio stations of the 80's are bringing back nice memories.

The played rock and roll, anything Pop. Pop was big back in the 1980's. Anything from Michael Jackson to Cyndi Lauper. Duran Duran was huge at that time. A lot of dance and techno as that was just coming into play. The radios also took a large amount of requests which for this day and age is incredibly rare.
