The main character in this cartoon was Penny Proud. Her parents were Oscar and Trudy(vetinarian). Her brother and sister (twins) were BeBe and CeCe respectively. Suga Mama Proud was Penny's paternal grandmother, her dog was named Puff. Bobby was Suga Mama's other son and Oscar's brother. Penny's best friend was named Dijonay Jones.
