What were the changes made to the King James bible with the Geneva version?

The marginal notes, used as a study guide in the Geneva Bible, were eliminated by King James version of the Bible. The Old Testment in the Geneva Bible was translated from the Greek and Hebrew. The King James version was assembled from English translations.

The King James Version was a revision of earlier English bibles - most of the changes were done to make the translation more accurate and the language easier to read.
