For the 50's try anything that would be in the movie Grease, poufy poodle skirts, sneakers with white socks, ribbon in your hair.

Fifties fashion was the big pink dresses and poodle skirts. My young daughter dressed up as a 50's girl for Halloween, and she wore a poodle skirt and kerchief.

Put your hair in neat curls and wear bright red lipstick. Look at vintage pictures online for ideas. Wear a pressed white blouse and a tea-length floral skirt with a crinoline underneath. Wear leather loafers if you can find them.

Dress standards were less relaxed in the 1950s, so keep this in mind. Pants were not usually worn outside the home, so opt for a dress. Accessorize the look with a hat, matching set of necklace and earrings, a clutch purse, and, of course, gloves. No respectable woman stepped out of the house without her purse and gloves.
