The original Gruen Watch Company went out of business in the 1970's but sold their naming rights. The watches are widely available (e.g. ) but have nothing to do with the original Gruen Watch Company. You'd need to go to a collector to find an original.

A number of familiar stores sell this brand of watch, including Kohl's, JCPenney, an Sears to name a few. And never forget to check eBay.
