What size ledger board is used in floor joist?

I need to know what kind of ledgers to use in floor joist.

In most cases the ledger board is the same size as the floor joist. You must obtain a straight ledger board and attach it to the frame of the house. It is also equally important tp choose the correct bolt size and to use accurate spacing between the different bolts.

The average ledger board used in floor joist for a deck would be about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch. Anything larger than that would be too much.

LEDGER BOARD of 2x size of joist is to be bolted to house using through bolts. Floor joist attached to Ledger board with approved joist. Traditionally, 2x4 and 2x6 structural lumber has been used for decking boards. Whenever the deck is attached to the house, a ledger board is used. It is the same size as the floor joists.
