You can use a 20 gallon aquarium for a juvenile bearded dragon and a minimum of a 50 gallon long aquarium should be used for an adult. Most cages do not retain heat and can cause trauma to the lizard.

For a bearded lizard I have a large aquarium. A lot of space is better because lizard need some rocks for relaxing and some vegetables for shadow. Also a big space provide a lot of exercise paths for "Beardy". It is very important to put aquarium away from direct sunlight.
