All infants have large heads. An excessively large head could indicate hydrocephalus, which requires immediate evaluation. When large heads run in the family this is called familial macrocephaly.
Usually children will grow into their body after awhile. Also genetics can make a child look like they have bigger parts of there body for a limited amount of time.
