If dog has a diagnosis of Canine Peripheral Vestibular Syndrome, you should discuss with your veterinarian what to expect. The dog's behavior can be alarming in appearance and often looks like he's been poisoned or is intoxicated. Get accurate, complete information from you vet.

If your dog runs circles in the front vestibule of your house and has a barking fit everytime the mailman comes to the house, you should know the following magic phrases: 1. Hey dog, shuttuppa your face! 2. Come here, chow's in the kitchen! 3. What good doggie needs a belly rub?

The dog will not be able to balance well and therefore should be kept away from objects that it can hurt itself with.

Your dog may experience sudden loss of balance or have trouble standing up. It may also experience bouts of nauseousness. You may need to hand feed and water your dog. These conditions usually clear up on their own.
