What should I know before switching my toddler to a bed?

You should know that this could be a long transition process. The crib is likely the only bed your toddler has known to this point, so it is a point of comfort for him. Slowly introduce him to the bed, bring his toys, and make sure to install protective bars at first so he doesn't fall out.

Make sure that the bed isn't too high off the ground so your child doesn't get hurt if he was to fall off. Your child can get out of this bed so be prepared to have him wake you up in the middle of the night when he's scared.

1. They are going to fall off at least once. 2. They may be afraid. 3. They may decided to get up earlier than normal. 4. They can leave their beds so they can surprise you, during sex. 5. They will get up when they don't want to go to bed.
