What should I know before I get married by a Justice of the Peace?

That is legally binding, and once you say "I do," then it's official. A Justice of the Peace is legally entitled to marry two individuals, and once you go before them (like a priest, judge, etc. ), you are offically married. They have the legal rights to marry you, so make sure it's what you want!

Getting married by the Justice of the Peace is the same as getting married by a pastor, or a judge. It is all completley legal. A Justice of Peace is more likely to follow the dress code of your wedding more. Especailly if you are having an informal wedding.
