What should I know about training Jack Russell puppies?

I am getting two new little puppies, and I am so excited, but nervous.

You are going to need a lot of patience. Jack Russells are known for being very hyper and full of energy. Though, I am sure you will train them well.

Jack Russels are very hyper dogs, and although they are very smart they have a mind of their own. Terriers in general have a stubborn personality so they're not the easiest dogs to train. Basic commands won't be a problem but don't expect a circus dog.

The first thing you should do is start to crate train them so they will learn not to potty in he house. Another thing you could do is to train them to sit, stay and lay down because Jack Russell puppies are very hyper. Pick up everything you do not want to be chewed up.

Take them outside to pee frequently. At least once every hour, possible more often. Always take them after they drink a lot of water or eat. Crate them at night.

Jack Russell puppies are indeed a challenge to train. Your best bet starting off is to develop patience and to track down a professional dog trainer.
