I would not recommend taking any pain killers while you are pregnant. If you must take some I would talk to your doctor before you take any medicine.

Painkillers are the drugs which have to be avoided during pregnancy. Most gynecologists avoids prescribing pain killers because there is a chance that it may affect the growth of the baby or may cause a damage to the brain. If the condition becomes unavoidable then the gynecologist may prescribe a mild pain killer.

Try and avoid any medications during pregnancy that haven't been approved by your OB. If you have a question about painkillers, talk to your doctor. Tylenol or acetaminophen are about the extent of painkillers that can be taken. Avoid taking ibuprophen and aspirin.

Only take painkillers prescribed by a doctor during pregnancy. Most are safe. I personally was on Vicadon during my pregnancy with no problems. For mild pain medicine Tylonal is generally the one they recommend you take.

Do not take them unless your doctor tells you that it's okay. Most doctors say that the only medicine you should take during pregnancy for pain is Tylenol. When it comes to medicine only take what your doctor prescribes or suggests you should take. Most medicines are not approved for consumption during pregnancy.
