People with Parkinson's suffer from dementia in the latter stages of the disease. This often manifests itself with episodes of "paranoia", or the feeling that someone is out to get them or is persecuting them. Reassurance and keeping to a regular schedule, as well as patience is the best treatment.

Paranoia is not usually directly the result of the Parkinson's disease itself (though it may cuase depression). It is more often caused by treatments to lesson Parkinson's symptoms. If irrational fears are happening, see the doctor to adjust or replace medications.

My father had Parkinson's and paranoia. The paranoia came from a dementia that occurs frequently with this disease. Paranoia doesn't get any better without treatment. He wasn't paranoid all the time but when it was set off it was bad. There is different drugs given for the depression of the disease and they seem to help paranoia.
