Know all the factors that were involved while you were driving. Did you have a reason for speeding? Was the speed limit as posted? Could the radar have been off?

The best course of action is to get a lawyer and then have your speedometer calibrated for accuracy. If you have reckless driving you want to at least get reduced.

Most of the time the cop doesnt show up, that helps. Check your ticket for accuracy by reviewing it immediately upon receipt. Decide whether you will need a lawyer. good luck

When you go to court you should be very respectful and let the judge know that you were speeding and why. In some states there are prayers of judgement where a person who gets a ticket can claim this and it will be completly taken off of their driving record.

Before trying to fight speeding ticket in court to avoid points on your driver's license, Ask yourself the following: Was the ticket frivolous IE: you were going 3 mph over the limit and you have no priors? Were you not actually speeding? Do you have a witness?

All states have requirements for officer training and recordkeeping on radar or laser speed sensors. If you officially request proof of this paperwork, it must be provided or you win.

It varies by state and county. Sometimes just going to court will get the fine/points reduced. Otherwise some states offer a safe driving course you can take instead of getting the points on your record. Usually this class lasts a few weeks and you can only take it once every 1-2 years.

First dress nicely. Make sure you are very polite with the judge. Hopefully you have a good driving record which may help you with the judge. Apoligize for speeding and say you will not do it again.
