Although the Jade plant is relatively low maintenance, it does need to be fertilized every srping, summer and early fall. Water the plant weekly without letting it sit in standing water. As for fertilizer, it is reccommended that you try African Violet food. Do not fertilize the Jade plant during winter.

This is a tropical perennial that comes back every year. It grows to 4-6 feet heigh and requires full sun exposure. The flowers blooms in late spring or early summer and in a pale pink color. This plant can be grown indoors and is drought tolerant. If planting indoors you do not want to place close to a window.

Jade plants like sunny spots, so place them near a window where they are going to get lots of warmth and light. They don't need to be watered very much, only when they are very dry - once a week is fine. They also like to be rootbound, so only repot to a slightly larger pot.

Elephant jade, like other jade plants, is a succulent. This means that it stores water in its leaves, unlike normal plants. As a result, over-watering can do a lot of damage and should be avoided. A good rule of thumb is to only water when the soil is dry. Otherwise, jades are very difficult to kill.

Elephant ears should be planted in a moderately shady area. This plant needs moderate water. Water once every three to four days.

Make sure that the plant gets enough sunlight because due to the texture of the elephant jade plant, it requires the sufficient amount of sunlight. Also, make sure you water it according to adequate standards as this plant requires water. Be gentle with the plant as well because of the texture.
