Question by  ramizq1 (185)

What should I expect to pay for SAAB convertible top repair?

Answer by  juvdbmxrider (46)

The cost for a SAAB convertible top to be repaired or better yet replaced would be anywhere from 300 to 500 dollars. This is going to depend on the year of the car, and where you purchase the product.

The price for a repair depends on your year. I you have an older SAAB you can expect to pay around 300. If it is 2004 and newer 600.

It all depends on what part of the convertible needs repairing. If it is the fabric itself then you can expect to pay anywhere from three hundred to a thousand dollars, depending on the damage. If it's the motor then it will cost about five hundred dollars.

A new SAAB convertible top repair should cost about $600 if you have a SAAB from 2004 to present. The older ones can vary in price from $200 to $400 depending on the year. The pair of installation hold down cables should cost around $25 and they will be required to install the new convertible top.

A new top costs about $400. On top of this is the cost of labor removing and installing the top. It would probably cost $600-$700 total.

You should expect to pay anywhere from $1000 to $2000 dollars depending on expensive the top is. Some convertible tops are not repairable and need to be replaced. Find a good uphostery shop and see what they might be able to do for you.

SAAB no longer makes convertable tops, so you won't be able to get it from the factory. There are several Chinese companies that are making them for the 900 model, and the prices range from $349-700 depending on the material. You are better off having it professionally installed by a SAAB dealer, because it can be quite complicated.

I actually need a lot more like what year/model car you had, and what exactly needs repaired. You should contact local shop to get a estimate done really.
