The doctors have said that they are going to start weaning him from the vent tomorrow, I am worried that it is too son.

You and your husband should discuss your concerns with the physician, who is a much better source of information regarding your husband's medical situation than untrained lay people on an Internet site.

When your husband is weaned from the ventilator, you can expect one of either two outcomes. Either he will start to breath on his own or he won't.

They will slowely back off of the amount of oxygen that he is recieveing to see how he responds, if he responds well they will continue the weaning.
