First, verify pressure with test gauge at pressure sender for dash gauge. If true, then possible oil screen clogged, oil pump worn, oil pump tube o-ring leaking / broken. Also if low oil level, pump is sucking air, damaging engine.

If you are relying on an in dash gauge then get a good quality oil pressure gauge and verify that the dash gauge is reading correctly. Most cases the OEM gauges don't work well after a while or give low or high readings. Cross check and if it is low then speak to a good Volvo tech they are complicated.

First check the oil level on the dipstick. Low oil pressure is usually due to too much oil in the oilpan. If your oil level is where it should be check for leaks at the filter, oilpan, and drainplug.

Take the Volvo in for immediate service. If your vehicle's engine is making noises, it could potentially come to an immediate stop since your engine would be seizing.
